Of Counsel

After graduating from the St. John’s University School of Law in 1981, James Spiess began practicing law in New York City at a firm that concentrated in trust and estate litigation.  In 1983, he relocated to the East End of Long Island and joined the predecessor to the firm of McNulty-Spiess, P.C.

As of February, 2021, Jim and McNulty-Spiess, P.C. joined EHADP as “of counsel” to the firm, bringing to the firm almost 40 years of estate, commercial and real estate litigation experience, at both trial and appellate levels.  As a seasoned Surrogate’s Court practitioner, Jim is regularly asked to represent clients of firms throughout the metropolitan area in matters before the Suffolk County Surrogate’s Court.  He is a member of both the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Association.
