Patricia M. Carroll Of Counsel

Patty joined the firm in 2010.  Patty’s practice focuses on litigating real property disputes, municipal land-use and zoning claims.  Patty has litigated cases on behalf of individuals, businesses, landowners, and municipalities, and has developed an extensive appellate practice.Prior to joining the firm, Patty practiced law in Manhattan for 18 years at Jones Day, Chadbourne & Parke and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.  Patty has extensive experience litigating a variety of civil actions in Federal and State courts, including complex commercial, bankruptcy and other disputes.  Significant representations include:

  • the historic bankruptcy and sale of assets of a major American car company
  • national counsel team to a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company in defense of its over-the–counter analgesic product
  • the successful Chapter 11 reorganization of one of the country’s largest automotive parts supplier
  • trademark and patent defense of a Canadian company regarding its pioneering smartphone device
  • litigating disputes related to the out-of-court restructuring of a major monoline insurer.

During the year prior to law school, Patty attended the Université de Caen in Normandy, France as a Fulbright Scholar and she is fluent in French.

Patty is active in community and pro bono activities, recently obtaining political asylum for a refugee from El Salvador, coaching Little League Baseball and teaching Sunday School at her church.  Patty has also coached the New York University Mock Trial teams, leading them to the Gold and Silver National finals in Iowa and Minnesota.  Patty lives in Sayville with her husband and son.
