Lauren K. Petersen

Lauren joined the firm’s real estate practice in 2023, returning to Long Island after beginning her legal career in Manhattan. Her practice encompasses a broad range of residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout the East End, from conventional residential purchases and sales to complex and high-value transactions involving luxury properties. Lauren advises clients through every stage of a transaction, from due diligence to contract negotiation to closing. Lauren also provides counsel on various other real estate matters, including the preparation and negotiation of leases (commercial, residential, and seasonal), easements, boundary line agreements, construction contracts, and architect agreements. Lauren brings a detail-oriented, practical approach to each transaction, with a focus on protecting her clients’ interests and efficiently navigating the legal and practical issues that arise in connection with real estate matters on the East End.

Prior to joining the firm, she practiced at Venable LLP, a preeminent national law firm in Manhattan. She received her J.D. cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law in 2021, where she served as Associate Managing Editor of the St. John’s Law Review and as a teaching assistant for Legal Writing I & II. While in law school, Lauren also interned for the Honorable P. Kevin Castel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Lauren received her B.A. summa cum laude from Fairfield University in 2018, where she was a member of the Division I varsity softball team and the Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society.

A lifelong Long Islander, Lauren is a graduate of Bayport-Blue Point High School and she currently resides in Bayport with her husband and son.
